Nissan to expand NISMO with new models and markets
Nissan intend to boost Nismo's sales figures by 15,000 units per year with new segments for new customers.
Nissan have revealed that they plan a new attack on their performance car push. Over the coming years they're to greatly expand the NISMO range, with new models for its new customers.
Nissan plan to push NISMO into new markets to become a more globally recognised performance division, but are yet to specify its new models and markets or indeed a time frame.
So far Nissan have only sold NISMO tweaked cars in Japan, the Middle East, North America and Europe, currently accounting for 15,000 sales a year in total. They hope that the new offensive will help boost this figure considerably.
Not only will they planning to enter more markets, but we can expect to see more models from the range receiving the NISMO treatment too. Currently the NISMO roster consists of the GT-R, 370z, Juke, Note and Sentra saloon, and not all of these are available in the UK.
The brand could quite easily enter the hot hatch market with the likes of the Micra and Pulsar. Nissan have hinted at a Pulsar NISMO too at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but nothing has come since. Will the Qashqai be next up with the likes of the SEAT Ateca Cupra being released? You'll have to wait and see....
