The New LEAF Hits Electric Avenue

Nissan UK took the new LEAF down to the crossroads of London's first electrified street, and now one of its most polluted - Electric Avenue and Brixton Road in Lambeth.

The new second generation 2018 LEAF, built in the UK is the worlds best selling Electric Vehicle having sold 300,000 around the world since it's release in 2010. The LEAF is now available at Norton Way with prices starting at £21,990 OTR with a £4,500 Government grant.

On a strike of pure coincidence the release of the new model came in the same week that London's air pollution reached the annual legal limit for nitrogen dioxide (NO2) just 30 days into the year...

Constructed in the 1880's Electric Avenue would become a landmark market street in south London, and the first street in fact to be lit by electricity, phasing out the traditional gas lamp.

Today the mayor of London along with TFL look to encourage the use of electric vehicles to lower emissions and aid the polluted air. Back in 2017 it was announced that around £4.5 million in funding for installation of EV charging infrastructure would be made in London to support drivers making the switch to zero-emissions transport.
